AIoT Academy

Training on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Internet of Things.

The AIoT Academy led by the Montenegrin Association for New Technologies (MANT) in cooperation with PRONA – Foundation for Science Promotion, is an initiative aimed at establishing a sustainable non-formal education program in Artificial Intelligence applied to the Internet of Things (AIoT) in Montenegro.

The project will be implemented through an intensive four-week training program (3 ECTS equivalent), combining theoretical lectures, laboratory practice, independent work and project-based learning. Participants will gain hands-on experience in designing, developing and testing AIoT systems in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, industry, disaster prevention and smart services.

A multidisciplinary team of experts in electronics, embedded systems, software engineering and AI technologies will guide high school students, university students and professionals, strengthening local capacities in this rapidly growing field.

Beyond direct participants, the project will contribute to strengthening Montenegro’s digital transformation and technological competitiveness, while creating the foundation for the future development of a recognized micro-credential program in AIoT.

This project is co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro.

Duration: 2025–2026.

Obuka o primjeni vještačke intelegencije u internetu stvari – AIoT Akademija

Cilj AIoT Akademije je:

Uspostavljanje i pilot implementacija neformalnog obrazovanja (obuke) u oblasti primjena Vještačke inteligencije u Internetu stvari i njegovo prerastanje u mikrokvalifikaciju (microcreditals). Specifični ciljevi AIoT akademije su:

● Razvoj kurikuluma za neformalno obrazovanje i obuku u AIoT.
● Pilot implementacija razvijenog kurikuluma sa prvom gerenacijom polaznika.
● Ostvarivanje uslova za odživost AIoT akademije.
● Prerastanje AIoT Akademije u mikrokvalifikaciju (microcredentials), kada se za to stvore zakonski uslovi,
● Obezbjeđivanje ljudskih resursa za potencijalni razvoj ove oblasti u CG.

AIoT akademija je teorijsko-praktični kurs neformalne edukacije za sledeće ciljne grupe:

● srednjoškolci,
● studenti,
● profesionalci koji rade u oblasti tehnologije i
● ostali zainteresovani za ovaj način usavršavanja.

Pored ostalog, AIoT akademija će obrađivati sledeće tematske cjeline:
● AIoT u medicini,
● AIoT u poljoprivredi,
● AIoT u prevenciju i upravljanju prirodnim katastrofama,
● AIoT za pomoć industriji i servisima i
● Pravni i etički aspekti AIoT

AIoT Akademija će se implementirati kroz 4 radne nedelje u ekvivalentnom opterećenju od 3 ECTS po sledećem programu:
● Modul 1, Teorijska nastava, Nedelja 1; 15 sati
● Modul 2, Praktična nastava, laboratorija, Nedelja 2; 15 sati
● Modul 3, Praktična nastava, projekat i demonstracija stečenih znanja, Nedelja 3,4; 5 sati
● Modul 4, Samostalni rad, teorijsko-praktični, nedelja 1,2,3,4; 15 sati

Deset najboljih učesnika Akademije će biti nagrađeno besplatnim učešćem na međunarodnoj ljetnjoj školi SS-CPSIoT (7th Annual Summer School on Cyber Physical Systems and Internet of Things, 09-13 June 2026, Budva , Montenegro) koja se održava u okviru MECO konferencije (Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing – MECO).

Viktor Vuković

Mechatronics student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Montenegro. Experienced in working with microcontrollers, sensors, and developing simple hardware-software systems, as well as application development. Creative, team-oriented, and highly motivated to continuously learn and advance my skills in robotics, aiming to apply my knowledge to solve real-world technological and societal challenges.

Azra Rastoder

Electronics engineer focused on the development and maintenance of reliable systems, with experience in e-commerce platforms, data center infrastructure, and process automation. Strong skills in system analysis, debugging, and optimization, with an interest in embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and real-time data processing.

Mitar Otašević

Top student of the generation in the Energy and Automation department; Recipient of the Excellence Scholarship for Doctoral Research from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation of Montenegro; Recipient of the Ministry of Education of Montenegro Scholarship for Talented Students during undergraduate studies; Recipient of the Municipality of Plav Scholarship for Talented Students during undergraduate studies; Mentor at the Electronics Practicum for the Winter Science School (2022/2023, 2023/2024) organized by PRONA.

Amela Murić

The founder of BauSignal, a startup focused on AIoT and software solutions for intelligent transportation systems. Her research centers on macro-level traffic modeling and city-scale simulation, aimed at supporting urban mobility planning and flow optimization. To improve   the quality of field data, she develops AIoT sensor systems using edge devices, LIDAR, ultrasonic and PIR sensors, and TinyML approaches. Her work bridges traffic engineering, embedded systems, and data analytics to build accessible and scalable smart city solutions.

Hima Zafar

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Novi Sad, I developed textile-based sensors and microfluidic systems designed for the next generation of wearable electronics. My expertise lies in taking complex materials and engineering them into scalable, sustainable solutions for health and safety using IoT based sensors.

Igor Vujošević

Completed bachelor’s studies in Computer Science at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (2022–2025). Worked as a teaching assistant at the same faculty during November and December 2025. Working as an intern at the faculty since January 15, 2026. Main focus is on software development and computer vision.

Filip Jovanović

Graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Montenegro, majoring in Computer Science. Currently working on my master’s thesis on the topic: Estimation of vital signs from video recordings using deep neural networks. During my studies, I was employed at three companies, where my work included computer vision and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, focusing on non-contact methods—using convolutional networks and rPPG technology.

Natalija Marniković

I am a second-grade general high school student interested in electronics, programming, and natural sciences, primarily physics. I participated in PRONA’s Summer Science School, where I attended the electronics practicum, as well as the Winter Science School, where, in collaboration with my colleague Andrija Đurović and under the mentorship of Dr. Sci. Ivan Martinović and Dr. Med. Milovan Roganović, I researched and wrote a scientific research paper titled “NeuroTrack – An Application That Doesn’t Give You a Headache.” At the international competition “EcoView,” I won third place with a scientific research paper titled “Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Wildfires in Montenegro from 2006 to 2025,” utilizing satellite imagery. Additionally, I won the “Smart City Challenge” competition organized by the Montenegrin Science Association – STEMatika. In Ulcinj, I participate in various activities ranging from activism and nature conservation to recording podcasts, with my favorites being the Logic Club and the STEM Club, where I assist with activities and will soon be holding my own workshop. I am a student of the Deneyap course at the TIKA Foundation’s Science & Innovation Center, and I have participated in the “Robo-Vision” camp organized by Montenegro Robotics, as well as in epiSTEMe Hub projects such as “YOUTH 4 SMART CETINJE” and “YOUSEED 3D PIONEERS.”

Dubravka Šćekić

Dubravka Šćekić is an electronics engineer and MSc candidate specializing in IoT and machine learning applications. She is actively involved in research and development of smart systems and innovative technological solutions.

Jelena Ćetković Grbović

Jelena is an electronics student at the University of Montenegro. Working with Infinity Marketing, she focuses on developing practical, human-centered technological solutions and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world market needs.

AIoT Academy is designed as a theoretical and practical non-formal training program in the field of Artificial Intelligence applied to the Internet of Things (AIoT). The program is tailored to different levels of participants and aims to provide both foundational knowledge and hands-on experience.
AIoT Academy is implemented over 4 working weeks.
